Purpose

This site presents Bitcoin not as an isolated invention but as knowledge connected to computing and semiconductor history, distributed-systems research, volunteer computing, the accounting and incentives of compute, distributed consensus, and blockchain design. Everything is free to read, with no advertising and no registration. Analytics are limited to consent-based Google Analytics 4, controlled by the cookie banner and disabled by default, and nothing is tracked for advertising. See the privacy policy for details.

The editorial principles we follow (primary sources first, neutrality, fact-checking, no price predictions, no advertising, and a stated update cadence) are published on the editorial policy page. Every article lists its primary sources, the References page curates starting points, and the Sources & Research Index exposes the complete citation graph. Diagrams favour code-native forms that can be checked against the text.

Update policy

Topics with time-sensitive content (regulation, tax, ETFs, economic data) show an explicit last-updated date and links to primary sources. Historically and technically stable topics are updated only when a factual correction is needed.
